Get Involved

The Office of 33rd Ward Alderman Rossana Rodriguez Sanchez is committed to the values of ward democracy and social justice. We invite you to participate in two of our initiatives to advance these values!

Participatory Budgeting (PB)

The 33rd Ward has joined seven other wards that will be using the Participatory Budgeting process to decide how to allocate our annual $1 million in Aldermanic Menu Funds. Menu funds are the only funds that are allocated to each ward for infrastructure improvements including all streets, alley, and sidewalk repavements.

PB is a civic engagement program that increases transparency and democratic participation in our communities. Residents work together to generate ideas about infrastructure improvements they'd like to see in our ward, then vote on which should receive funding. You can read more about PB Chicago here.

We are currently in the final stage of PB which is VOTING! In order to vote, you can register here to participate in our online voting process, stop by the office during office hours, or check out one of our upcoming voting events.

Upcoming voting events:

Wednesday (1/15) and (1/22) 3:30PM-5:00PM at Roosevelt High School

Thursday (1/16) and (1/23) 3:00PM to 5:00PM at Carl Von Linne School

Saturday (01/18) 1PM-3:30PM at the 33rd Ward Office, 3001 W Irving Park Rd

Monday (01/20) 1:30PM-3:30PM at the 33rd Ward Office, 3001 W Irving Park Rd

Community Driven Zoning and Development

Community Driven Zoning and Development (CDZD) ensures that our residents have direct and meaningful decision-making over a vital and limited resource—land—and in shaping the vision of development in our ward. Residents’ knowledge of the needs and history of our neighborhoods is invaluable in the consideration of zoning changes. CDZD is also a tool to politically enfranchise our undocumented families, friends, and neighbors.

You can find our CDZD procedures and goals here.

If you'd like to learn more about opportunities to volunteer in our ward's community driven zoning process, send an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject line "CDZD volunteer".

If you are seeking a zoning change, please fill out this google form and our office will follow up with you.
